Neighbourhood planning
Neighbourhood planning encompasses a series of powers introduced by the Localism Act 2011. Neighbourhood planning gives communities the opportunity to plan their local area by deciding how it should grow, where development should go and what it should look like.

The borough of Guildford has ten designated neighbourhood area and four adopted neighbourhood plans.
Albury
We designated the Albury Neighbourhood Area on 22 February 2017.
Artington
We designated the Artington Neighbourhood Area on 27 January 2022.
Ash
We designated the Ash neighbourhood area on 30 April 2024.
Burpham
The Burpham Neighbourhood Plan was adopted on 12 April 2016.
East Clandon
We designated the East Clandon neighbourhood area on 20 October 2022.
East Horsley
The East Horsley Neighbourhood Plan was adopted on 24 July 2018.
Effingham
The Effingham Neighbourhood Plan was adopted on 10 April 2018.
Lovelace
A referendum on the Lovelace Neighbourhood Plan was held on 6 May 2021
Puttenham
A referendum on the Puttenham Neighbourhood Plan was held on 6 May 2021.
Seale and Sands
We designated the Seale and Sands Neighbourhood Area on 24 May 2016.
Send
A referendum on the Send Neighbourhood Plan was held on 6 May 2021.
West Clandon
We designated the West Clandon Neighbourhood Area on 18 March 2019.
West Horsley
The West Horsley Neighbourhood Plan was adopted on 4 December 2018.
